WASHINGTON, D.C — Young gamers in the Democrat party are feeling frustrated this week after upper rank officials have insisted that they only play on the most needlessly difficult mode, our sources have confirmed.

“It’s not that we don’t like a challenge, it’s just the gamer we’ve been playing is actually really easy to win. And winning is fun, especially this game where the enemies are so fun to defeat. Then these old heads try to force us to play on this needlessly hard difficulty. It’s like they want us to lose,” said a Democratic candidate who wished to remain anonymous for fear of having their soul sucked out and fed to Nancy Pelosi. “There’s simply no need to make this game harder than it needs to be. They don;t even want us to play on the hardest difficulty in the game. They want us to play on a modded difficulty. It’s like they’re going out of their way to make sure we can’t beat the game.”

Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer claims that gamers are playing incorrectly if they are playing on the normal difficulty setting.

“The fact is that many in our party would rather just play a game that’s easy to win, presents no challenge and allows them to simply steamroll their opposition. But that’s just not the Democrat way. They must play on the specially modded hard mode we made for them. They have to know you can’t defeat your opponents. You must meet them in the middle. Negotiate, see where they’re coming from and find common ground. Whether the game has you facing off against Nazis, Zombies, Demons or a combination of all three, you must challenge them and let them challenge you. Simply beating them and saving the world is bad and frankly a little antisemetic.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom weighed in on the issue during the latest episode of his fence sitting themed podcast.

“Well look, I mean these gamers in the party should be able to enjoy an easy playthrough and just breeze through to an easy victory. But the average American doesn’t care about that. They aren’t sitting at home thinking about things like defeating zombies and demons and what not. So I do think they should be playing on this modded difficulty mode. The demons deserve their fair shot. I wouldn’t want demons to win but I don’t think they should be defeated that easily. They are villains not fodder and the key to a good villain is they do make a few good points. Some gamers in America prefer to play as a demon and we need to make sure we don’t alienate the demon sympathizers.” 

At press time, Cory Booker has created an even more needlessly difficult mod but credited its creation to democrat voters.
