Players saddened by Destiny 2 shutting down will no doubt find comfort in a stirring eulogy delivered by none other than original Ghost voice actor, Peter Dinklage.

Though never involved in Destiny 2, Dinklage still has fans in the Destiny community. Longtime player and Destiny enthusiast, Emily Ashby welcomed the news.

โ€œDinklebot was there for us at the very beginning. He was the first voice we heard, so itโ€™s fitting heโ€™ll be the last one we hear,โ€ Ashby said, โ€œI just hope we get some loot for listening to the whole eulogy.โ€

Dinklage himself was enthusiastic about his return to the role.

โ€œI thought they said โ€˜Disneyโ€™ at first. It took a minute, but I remembered recording for that back in the day,โ€ Dinklage remarked, โ€œWhen they approached me for the eulogy, I said โ€˜Hell, Iโ€™m up for another 30 minute recording sessionโ€™. Oh, terribly sad about that TV series or whatever it is getting canceled.โ€

The eulogy will be broadcast on repeat in the Tower as part of the gameโ€™s final update in June. Below is a transcript of the opening lines.

โ€œThat wizard came from the moon, and you came from around the world to defeat it. Weโ€™ve faced many obstacles together – the forces of darkness, the pain of seeing a battlefield full of blues, the Red War Campaign, the Curse of Osiris expansion. But we’ve persevered through strength, through light and through vaulting content people paid for.โ€ย

At press time, Bungie announced the eulogy would be locked behind an Eververse purchase.
