TORONTO โ€” Local World of Warcraft player and MMORPG enthusiast Jonah Harper, who recently purchased and played Fallout 4 for the first time thanks to a 90% off Steam deal, has been absolutely blown away by the graphical quality of the 2015 sequel.

โ€œIโ€™ve never played a game in my life with graphics this good,โ€ Harper shared in a Reddit post. โ€œIโ€™ve been playing games since 2004, and I didnโ€™t know they could look like this. So beautiful and life-like. Obviously, Iโ€™ve seen some advancements in graphical quality in the twenty-two years that Iโ€™ve been gaming but this is on a whole other level. When I went from WoW to Final Fantasy 14, I thought that was the biggest graphical advancement that was possible but boy was I wrong. Bethesda must be technical wizards.โ€

Harperโ€™s friends claim theyโ€™ve been trying to tell him for years about the advancements in gaming, but he wouldnโ€™t listen.

โ€œWe know he loves his MMOs, thatโ€™s great and we respect it, but weโ€™ve always tried to get him to branch out and see what else gaming has to offer,โ€ stated his friend Noah Jackson. โ€œI still remember back in 2009 trying to show him Uncharted 2 and how great it looked but Azeroth is all he had eyes for. Even now weโ€™re trying to tell him that Fallout doesnโ€™t even look that good for a 2015 game and he refuses to listen. World of Warcraft has a pretty basic graphics engine but itโ€™s all he really knows, so to him any game looking better is a miracle.โ€

Video game psychologist William Lictor says that this is a common occurrence with gamers who branch out of their singular taste profile.

โ€œWhat Mr. Harper is experiencing is nothing new. I see this kind of thing all the time in patients that only ever play one type of game. I often have patients who only play Madden or Call of Duty and as soon as they experience a game outside of their very singular habit, itโ€™s as if a whole new world has opened to them. They canโ€™t believe that anything could be as good because all theyโ€™ve experienced is a very solitary stagnant thing that doesnโ€™t advance like the rest of the industry. Seeing something new is transformative when the only gaming advancement you know is WoW updates or a new CoD or Madden that is marginally different than the last.โ€

At press time, Harper had gone back to playing World of Warcraft after meeting Preston Garvey.
